Finally the day has come.
Today was the intersection painting day.
Yuri has witnessed how much works the community people have done for today.
Therefore, she was super excited yet a little bit nervous
organizing her group as well.
Form the early morning,
they cleaned the street and put the design on the ground
fixed it and redrew.
Once more people showed up,
we srated painting the base colors.
The best part of this event was that we could participate in with our children
and people in the community.
More and more
Not only the on-going painting activities,
there were the lemonade stand,
and music.
There were more painting,
and more music.
Keena was interested in all of that.
It was beautiful to see that people with different background all worked together
including the Japanese people who joined my field trip.
I goy interviewed by the local news paper too.
We also planned some additional activities.
Japanese traditional festival game,
the kids's traffic sign making,
and Japanese traditional street music.
This is Carolyn who is our dear friend
and who started all of this by knocking every single door in her neighborhood.
We are so proud of her!
After so many paint...
We were done!
We did it!!!!!
It was so special to see the kids playing on the intersection we just painted.
Honestly, we did this for our family and friends who believe in the community...
Oh what a day...
We hope that those two felt "something special" through this community day.
