Yuri has organized an urban camp event held on Aug 9-10.

During the event, people will learn how to make a cob oven.

Today, we made one oven to try out

and to use it for cooking pizzas during the event.

We made it step by step with the handy-sandy:)

1) Collected big rocks and concrete blocks and stuck them.

2) Filled the gap with sand

3) Put sand and gravels on the top

4) Put fire bricks on the top

*This is the base for the second oven, which we will make during the event

5) Put the cooking surface board 

and made a pile of sand (mixed with water) as big as you want the inside of oven to be

6) Covered it with the plastic sheet (or plastic garbage bag)

7) Covered it with news paper (or paper bags)

8) Mixed water, clay, and sand

9) Covered the dome with the mixture

10) Mixed water, clay, sand and hay

11) Coved the dome with the mixture 

* Milo helped a little bit too.

12) Cut the opening and took all sand out (sandy did it).

Little by little…we have also set up the FARM as the place to stay and have lots of people.

We will see how it goes.
