Rouge River Hike - Day1

We went to the Rouge River trail for our first backpacking trip with Milo.

The hike was about 40 miles,
and Silas and Yuri carried either Milo in his backpack
or a backpack with all our stuff, which both weighted over 35lb.

Day 1: 14miles hike from the trail head to Paradise lodge

Unfortunately, it was raining and we had to gear up with
our rain jackets, pants, and our brand-new "hands free" trekking umbrella.

First Silas carried Milo,

and Yuri carried the backpack.

Let's get started!

10 minutes later...
the brand-new umbrella was broken...

It was actually better walking without umbrella
because we could see the view better.

Oh well, it is Oregon,
we had better enjoy the hike in rain.

After walking for 2.5 hours,
we decided to take a break here.

Pretty nice huh?

The other side looked good too.

Milo was so happy to be able to walk around.

And...
we got back the trail.

We walked on the skinny trail along the Rouge River.

There were lots of waterfalls to walk by as well.

Yay, finally it stopped raining.

Then, we keep walking and walking

We expected the trail would be all flat,
but there were some ups and downs...

Oh, how's Milo doing?
He was out!

Even when we took a short break,
he was sleeping.

and...
he woke up.

So what we did?
We got back on the trail again...

After over 5 hours walk,
we got our final destination of the day...
Paradise Lodge!

We made it!

AND,
it was the real paradise!
