mushroom picking

Today was our first mushroom picking trip!

With whistles in each of our hand, let's get in the forest.

Hello chanterelle mushroom!
For the future growth, we cut the chanterelle instead of digging it up,
left the bottom part in the dirt and covered it with some more dirt.

Milo found one too.

How about you, Silas?

We went deeper and deeper in the forest.
In order not to loose each other,
we constantly blew whistles to locate ourselves.

Finally!
This was Silas's first find.

We kept walking around, and found some more.

*Milo did not want to open his eyes during the photo shooting...

But look at those big chanterelle!

And I captured his eyes too:)

After the snack break with Silas's apple crumble,

we went back to the forest.

This was Yuri's first one.

Due to the unusual weather in this year,
we could not find as much chanterelle as we had wished,
but we got this much,

and we saw lots of forest beauty.

Thank you forest!

On the way back, we stopped by Tom's house.
He supposed to be our guide today,
but he got weird spider bite and could not make it...
At his house, we played with the kitty

(As you can see... Keenan was so happy to play with the kitty)

and harvested some carrots.

Oh yum yum.
